Amina Yusuf started cooking for weddings and naming ceremonies in her community on weekends while working as a lab technician in Brampton.
In 2024 she rented a commercial kitchen in Mississauga and went full time. Today Chef Amina's Kitchen caters corporate lunches, private dinners and events of up to 300 guests.
"Most of my corporate clients found me through CEADC," she says. "Being verified made the difference with procurement teams who had never heard of me."
Her advice to new members: answer every enquiry, even the small ones. Her largest contract started as a request for a tasting for six.
