Fixed prices work best when the scope is predictable, like a tax return or a website package. Clients can order right away, which means more sales.
Hourly rates suit open-ended work such as repairs or consulting. Set a minimum number of hours so short jobs are still worth your time.
For custom projects like renovations, ask for a quote request and answer within a day: providers who respond quickly win most of their jobs.
