We looked at quotes sent on CEADC this summer. Providers whose quotes were accepted most often had three habits in common.
First, they replied quickly: quotes sent within four hours were twice as likely to be accepted as quotes sent after two days.
Second, they broke the price down. A line for labour, a line for materials and a clear note on what is not included reassures clients more than a single total.
Third, they set expectations on timing. A start date and an estimated number of days removes the biggest unknown for the client.
